This time they decided to make a sub-par time-travel comedy. Which means they can significantly cut budget and film a prank video on the streets instead of a sci-fi movie. And this story can’t really stand on its own, it more or less requires a viewing of the third film and that can’t be watched without the second one. The first half of the run-time is pretty bad and boring, but the second half is more or less tolerable.

So, how did Uhura come to Vulcan? Why Vulcan teaching devices are in english? Why Spock can’t answer to “how do you feel”? Comfortably warm and dry. Relatively healthy. There are a lot of logical answers that are not as bad as his fake confusion. Why do they even talk about not having emotions? Isn’t their entire culture based on hardships of suppressing them to not cloud judgement, not on easily not-having them from the start? Romulans have emotions.

So why do not they go to 17th century? There were a lot of whales and zero space nukes.
During the time travel there’s a terrible CGI sequence of nonsense.
So, after being captured in every episode of the serial and even openly stating “this is an extremely primitive and paranoid culture” they send an african and a fake russian to hunt for army assets? Good thing he is not a real russian and his accent is fake and not even remotely russian. Otherwise he could have problems during the cold war.
So what about not interfering with the past? Scott outright leaked the technologies of the future. And if he needs a voice-interface for computer he wouldn’t understand keyboard GUI. Especially that half-command-line-driven trash of that time. That’s why the screen just plays stupid video of opening windows instead of anything real.
Why do they run away from the hospital instead of just using a transporter?
And after such potentially earth-ending event with implications that whales are sentient aliens who are stupid enough to be driven to extinction by monkeys no one ever heard again from the fake Rama.
