Les Rivières pourpres 2 : Les Anges de l’apocalypse is a sequel to Les Rivières pourpres based on Les Rivières pourpres, and it is not based on anything. The sequel to Les Rivières pourpres, La Dernière chasse, came out in 2019. This film is written by Luc Besson and it’s a thoroughly jumbled artificial mess. It’s entirely unrelated to the thesis from the first film, so the name is just slapped on it. There’s ancient aliens religious mumbo jumbo. Nothing connects to anything.
And the film itself is as weak as its writing — it’s made in 2000s so of course it has parkour nazi monks. Probably hired the whole yamakasi with a bundle discount. The cinematography is desaturated, and it has the most violent bloom i can remember outside of computer games.
