After she was killed in the Daredevil, the idea of her own (but connected) movie seemed dumb. Well, i have to say they’ve actually handled the situation okay.
It’s a borderline tolerable movie, which is dragged down by not really good premise and often navel-gazing with utmost self-importance and art-housy pretense. It’s a significant improvement over the Daredevil movie, but it’s still a part of that generation, where all usa action movie were devoid of action and\or cared more about daddy issues and unfitting crying feats and sissy hysteria. Even limiting it to Marvel we have atrocious Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and aforementioned Daredevil (well let’s throw in the Batman Begins from DC). It was especially painful for comic book and superhero movies, when you did expect the level of quality of something like Batman (1989), Batman Returns, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman (1978), Superman: The Animated Series, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, X-Men (1992), Spider-Man (1994).
Also it’s painfully bloodless and all corpses disappear into the smoke, which is too unfitting for all the pretense.
Americans tell about christmas to a greek.
So, i discovered there is the Daredevil director’s cut, do i want to torture myself alive again? Challenge accepted.
